Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello announced their separation earlier this month after seven years of marriage. Manganiello has since filed for divorce, but the couple is reportedly still working out the terms of their settlement. That includes custody of their dog.

Earlier this month, Vergara and Manganiello shared that they had “made the difficult decision to divorce.” A few days later, Manganiello reportedly filed divorce papers citing irreconcilable differences. The couple apparently has a prenuptial agreement.
“They still have a few issues to figure out, like custody of their dog, Bubbles,” a source told Us Weekly of the pair’s divorce settlement. “But Sofia hopes they can move forward in a calm, fair fashion.”
Recently, both Vergara and Manganiello posted happy birthday messages to Bubbles on her 10th birthday. As Vergara wrote, “No matter how many times u bite me I will always love u.” The actress has spoken in the past about the dog’s apparent preference for Manganiello.

Vergara Has Said That Bubbles ‘Hates’ Her
In 2021, Vergara appeared on The Tonight Show, sharing that her dog Bubbles “hates me” and is “super mean to me.” She added that the pup actually “gets angry when I walk in the room,” but is obsessed with Manganiello.
“She was supposed to be for me. She was supposed to be my dog, and she arrived at the house and I don’t know, she thought that she was for Joe, and that’s all she wants to do. She’s, like, after him all day long,” Vergara told Jimmy Fallon.
It’s not clear if Bubbles’ apparent preference for Manganiello will have any effect on the couple’s custody of her. For now, Vergara is set to appear on the America’s Got Talent live shows, which will begin August 22. Her Golden Buzzer for Season 18 has yet to be revealed.
