Biography: Sherwin Badger is considered the first great American ice skater.

He won the US singles championship in 5 consecutive years 1920-24 and in 1923 won the first North American singles championship.

His most successful pairs partnership was with Beatrix Loughran and together they won the US Championships from 1930-1932 before taking the pairs silver medal at the 1932 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid.

Badger was successful in the finance world but stayed close to skating as a judge and as the head of the US Figure Skating Association in the 1930's.
